Free Music?

Ok.. what a crazy couple of days. The opening ceremonies of the 2nd Annual Sikh Film festival were quite amazing. Full of beautiful sounds, colour and a great martial arts demo. If you missed it, not to worry as there are a number of exciting things coming up:

Luis Mario Ochoa - Latin-Jazz Sextet

Thursday, the 11th, 9:00, at the Arbor Room, Hart House,
7 Hart House Circle, U of T (near Queen's Park Circle & Hoskin)
presented by Worlds of Music Toronto and the Hart House Music
Committee.

MARTA ARATANGY combines soothing guitar stylings and crisp vocalizing,
drawing her savoury repertoire from Brazil's rich musical heritage,
known for its languid melodies and compelling rhythms.

LUIS MARIO OCHOA brings the fiery Cuban dance rhythms of his "Cimarron"
big band to a sextet format. Latin Jazz is the entry point into a
celebration of song and spirit in this exciting group.

Next Wednesday, the 24th, LISA PATTERSON launches her new CD, Roam, at
the Rivoli, 334 Queen West.

A singer / songwriter who incorporates her diverse heritage, travels
and musical studies into a compellng fusion, Lisa has been impressing
critics and fans with a sound that ranges from Celtic to Indian. If you
enjoyed the exquisite performance by LHASA a few weeks ago, this may be
